16112009~ Well, today i watched 2012. i wasn't so fond of it, because i know it isn't true. However, my buddies succeeded in persuading to go watch it. OK, here it is.
If one would just to go and watch for fun (depending one's interpretation of fun), it's a 4 out of 5 stars. The CGI effects are very good, it looks real enough. Then we have the exhilarating parts. For me it is where the characters take off from a crumbling airstrip (thrice!, no?), and watching the whole world falling into itself... Call me cold-blooded if you want, but i enjoy those scenes the most...
There's one thing (or two) that i learnt from this movie. Humanity shows in time of great trouble. In dire times, there are only two types of humans: the selfish, and the humans. As humans we should look after each other, care for each other, and 'save' (only Jesus saves, we just spread the word) others. Also, i learned that always treasure and cherish the moments with our loved ones, family, friends, and our love(r)...
But as for the 'truth' of the film, it will not happen in 21st December 2012, it could happen anytime before and after that date. Why? It is simple, no one can predict the End. In Biblical sense, "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." (Matthew 24:36). Logically, if humans could predict the End, why couldn't we predict earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc...? Accurately.
Think about it.
"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him." (Matthew 24:42- 44)
