End into the Beginning, and into the Unknown Beyond…

“It is a land the LORD your God cares for; the eyes of the LORD your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.” (Deuteronomy 11:12)

01012010~ In just an arrows flight, the year 2009 has passed… so much had happened, too much to recall entirely. And there would be so much happening in the year 2010… Where should i start? Hmm… let’s start with the recent, and see if i can recall back; then i shall move into my new year hopes…. Fine?

This day (01012010) i did not much special, only going online the whole day, preparing Sunday’s worship slides…Nothing memorable? But, the first 2 hours of this year was. Our church’s youth stayed back in church. We talked, played, joked and laughed for the entire 2 hours. Man, was that fun!!! Back in 31st December 2009, we had our Thanksgiving and Farewell night. We gave thanks to GOD for the year that was, reflecting and praising Him for his unending love and grace. Then, we bid adieu to Reverend Lee, our pastor for 12 whole years! Many shared about how his life impacted theirs, many shed their tears, most were quite, pondering upon this man who humbly served GOD with a big heart… We’ll miss you, Rev. Lee!!! T.T

Rewind to 25th, Christmas day. This Christmas was probably the most easiest, without any preparation, we had our celebration just fine. i had my lunch at 1300 hrs, then went to church at 1400 hrs to ‘help’ out in food preparation… i did not do anything however… i just took a couple of pictures, talked, tasted, talked some more, then left for the baptism… At the baptism, one of my closest (that is the only one) was being baptised, 2 of the F5’s member was too, which one was the one i mentioned… After the baptism, and also the rejoice from Heaven to earth, we (youth’s, especially F5) played in the sea. Funny thing is, i forgot to bring extra clothing even though i knew we were going to the beach…

December 24th, our church celebrated Christmas (few hours earlier). First off was sure to be praise and worship. Then…not sure what it is, but we have a performance by uh…what do you call them in English…? Never mind, by 年轻夫妇 group and their children…How cute~ Also a few of our members came up to testify for the LORD. Not to forget, a video down memory lane, throughout the years since our church was born. The video took 3 persons to make, and unnecessary amounts of stress and worries too…However the video was very satisfying, and fulfilling. Next up was the youth’s presentation, sort of dance without the legs moving… i don’t know what’s it called. The song is 我们爱(让世界不一样). A very nice song, go check it out! Then, we had supper! It was kind of like a potluck…(is this getting too long? i think it is…) During the supper, we talked, chatted, laughed and joked… Then we kind of uh, cleaned up the dishes? (i meant F5). When we were done, it was nearly Christmas, we got together and countdown-ed. All the while, some of the youths went downstairs to umm…play some stuff? Better not disclose it here. Later, when all the grown-ups went back, we stayed and shared about the year that was…

Let me fast backwards things a little.  Previously, we (Y1M73) were busy finishing our assignments and a presentation. Frankly, i think assignments are not necessarily done, but rather sent to each other… Hmm…Why? It’s because of eleventh hour work. We usually don’t do things until it is very very late. Why? Even though we know we shouldn’t do things until the last moment, we still do it… Don’t know why? Maybe it’s implanted in our minds… i don’t know…

Now what? Hmm… Ah yes, back to Mid-Autumn Festival. i can’t recall much of it. Let’s see, this year (2009) we had it in Batu Ferringhi, a first since we usually have it in Pepper Estate for the past years. Also this one was organised by our children fellowship group. As for us youths, we presented something like a dance, without the feet moving so much. Don’t know what’s it called. We just call it a dance. Whatever, you want to call it. Then, we have lantern making competition, games, and food. Ah, not  to forget, we also had a lantern parade. That was pretty much it.

Oh, before i forget, i was also involved in an accident. That was 8th December, so is kind of jumbled up. So, i was walking to college with my friend as usual. When i was about to cross to the college, i was knocked down by a motorcycle. i know i had looked right and left before crossing, but was puzzled how i could miss the bike. After i had stepped out, i heard the horn of the motor, i looked to the right, there it was, the motor right before my eyes! Boom! i sort of ‘flew’ to the left. i fell. i scarred myself. All of that happen in a few seconds, but through my eyes it was in  s-l-o-w m-o-t-i-o-n… i immediately got up to asses the damages. Logically, the body should have been hurt on the right, where the motor hit me. i looked there, and was surprised, no injuries! i thought, ‘where’s the pain coming from?’ Confused, i look to my left side, and was surprised. Even though i was wearing long pants, my left knee was injured. Besides that, my waist also got hurt. But the most severe was on my left elbow. i’m not sure what it is, but when i looked, i saw something white-ish. Then i crossed the road, thinking it’s still fine to go to school. Just as i reached the other side, i started to lose colour vision. Before i knew it, everything went white, then black. i could still hear, but i couldn’t see at all. My friend saw that i looked pale, and asked me to sit. i sat, and waited as my friend went back to drive me to the clinic, all i could hear was the college guards discussing amongst themselves of what just happened. As my friend and the newly acquainted friend arrived, i recovered my vision. OK, we went to the clinic, and then i went home… Man, this is getting too long!

Step back to May. This is when i first started my college life. Well, the first week was kind of confusing, as always are. i didn’t really made any new friends then, but was 惊讶 i saw some one (who, i won’t say). However, as time passed, i did made friends, some were very good too. Exciting, i would say. Now, this month was also the first time the Youth were this involved in the Family Camp. Wow! it’s chaotic. Well, that’s probably we did preparations in the eleventh hour. But, overall it was fun, with minor faults. Which means we still have space for improvements. To cut it short, all was good.

Now, i can’t recall anything back from May 2009… So, i will stop here in 2009, and then proceed to 2010.

2010? What’s in store? No one knows? Only GOD. But there are some plans… This year, i see the revival of the church, especially in Youth. Also, school, id est college, is going to get tougher… and i am too lazy to continue, maybe i shouldn’t have written so much.

As January 2010 come to an end, there are 11 more month to go for this year… No one knows when all these ends. All i can say is, “this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).

Seasons~

Winter,

Though the snow may fall,

though the icy winds blow;

i want to praise,

‘My LORD, Your love is warm’

Spring,

Flowers bloom in splendour unmatched,

Birds sing in harmonious tune;

i want to praise,

‘How great is Your hands!’

Summer,

Sun shines brightly in the sky,

Days are long, air is hot;

i want to praise,

‘Your love endures forever’

Autumn,

Leaves fall gently to the ground,

Cold showers rain in melancholy;

i want to praise,

‘How great is Your comfort!’
